GP Charlevoix Étapes 2 et 3

Pour cette 2e journée de course du GP de Charlevoix, un programme double se présentait aux cyclistes. Il y avait le contre-la-montre en matinée, puis la terrible ascension en après-midi.

Pour la 2e étape, les coureurs devaient parcourir 16 km de façon individuelle contre le temps. À ce petit jeu, c’est Jean-Simon D’Anjou, avec une 7e position, qui s’en est le mieux tiré pour les membres de l’équipe Norco/Premier Tech p/b ChewPod. Simon Ouellet et Kevin Archambault ont aussi offert une belle performance avec les 12e et 13e temps.

Plus tard, pour la 3e étape, les cyclistes devaient faire face à la très dure épreuve de l’ascension. Au menu, 12 km seulement. 7 km sur le plat, en guise de mise en jambe pour les 5 km suivants, direction les hauteurs.

Après un bon travail d’équipe sur le plat pour placer les coureurs protégés en bonne position au pied de la difficulté, la bataille a commencé. Du lot d’hommes forts, David Drouin s’est démarqué en allant obtenir la 2e position. Suivait non loin Jean-Simon D’Anjou en 6e place. Puis, Samuel Blanchette avec une très bonne 12e position.

D’excellentes performances jusqu’à date pour l’équipe, mais le plus dur reste à venir et rien n’est joué. Tout va se décider lors de l’ultime étape, sur un parcours de 126 km tout en relief!

For this second day of racing in the GP Charlevoix, a doubleheader was presented to cyclists. There was the time trial in the morning, and then the terrible uphill climb in the afternoon.

For the second stage, the riders had to race 16 km individually against time. In this game, Jean-Simon D’Anjou, with a 7th position, was the best for the team Norco/Premier Tech p/b ChewPod. Simon Ouellet and Kevin Archambault also offered a good performance with the 12th and 13th time.

Later, for the 3rd stage, the cyclists had to face the very hard test of the climb. On the menu, only 12 km. 7 km on the flat, as a warm-up for the next 5 km towards the heights.

After a good team work on the flat to put top riders in a good position at the foot of the difficulty, the battle began. David Drouin has distinguished himself by going to get the 2nd position. Not far behind was Jean-Simon D’Anjou in 6th place. Then, Samuel Blanchette with a very good 12th place.

Excellent performance for the team, but the hardest is yet to come and nothing is played. Everything will be decided at the final stage, over a course of 126 km all in relief!
