La 5e étape de la Vuelta Independencia Nacional était la plus montagneuse. Reliant Moca à Constanza, elle était longue de seulement 87 km, mais comportait environ 60 km de montée. Cinq côtes catégorisées, deux de catégorie 2 et trois de catégorie 3.

Évidemment, le peloton est éparpillé, chacun essayant de survivre de son mieux pendant que les Colombiens volent le spectacle. Présent dans un groupe d’une trentaine de coureurs, Étienne Samson limite les dégâts. Il parvient à franchir la ligne d’arrivée en 69e position.

A lot of ascension

The fifth stage of the Vuelta Independencia National was the most mountainous. Although only 87km long, the stage from Moca to Constanza included about 60km of climbing. In which featured five ranked climbs, two 2^nd category and three 3^rd category.

Of course, the peloton is all over the road and riders try to survive the stage the best they can when Colombians steals the show. In a group of 30 riders, Etienne limits his losses and crosses the line in 69^th place.
