GP Val-David

 3 coureurs dans le top 5 d’une course de costauds

C’est par une chaleur torride que les coureurs de l’équipe Norco/Premier Tech p/b ChewPod ont pris le départ du Grand Prix de Val-David. Au menu, 6 tours d’un parcours accidenté, avec 2 ascensions principales, pour un total de 111 km.

Dès la première montée, Mathieu Roy s’est échappé avec deux autres coureurs. Dans la deuxième ascension du parcours, Simon Ouellet, Jean-Simon D’Anjou, David Drouin et Samuel Blanchette sont revenus sur le groupe de tête, accompagnés par le redoutable Derrick St-John. Ils ont roulé ensemble jusqu’au dernier tour, tenant le peloton à distance.

Puis, David a attaqué dans la première côte, suivi par Derrick. Il ne restait plus à Jean-Simon et Simon de laisser travailler le dernier survivant de leur groupe, Alexis Cartier.

Dans la dernière ascension de la course, David s’est fait distancer par Derrick, qui est allé chercher la victoire. Jean-Simon a attaqué pour aller chercher la 3e position, alors que Simon Ouellet a obtenu la 4e position au sprint.

Pendant ce temps, les autres coureurs de l’équipe restaient bien placés dans le peloton, surveillant les arrières de leurs coéquipiers en tête.

It was a really hot day for the GP Val-David when riders from Team Norco/Premier Tech p/b ChewPod took the start. On the menu, 6 laps of a hilly course, with two major climbs, for a total of 111 km.

From the first climb, Mathieu Roy escaped with two other riders. In the second ascent of the course, Simon Ouellet, Jean-Simon D’Anjou, David Drouin and Samuel Blanchette came back to the lead group, accompanied by the strong man Derrick St-John. They rode together until the last lap, staying away from the pack.

Then David attacked on the first climb, followed by Derrick. It only remained to Jean-Simon and Simon to follow the last man surviving from the group, Alexis Cartier.

In the last climb of the race, David was distanced by Derrick, who went for the win. Jean-Simon attacked to get the third position, while Simon Ouellet earned 4th place in the sprint.

Meanwhile, the other riders from the team were still well placed in the pack, watching the back of their teammates in the lead.
